Our Organization
Clinical Research of the Ozarks, Inc. (CRO) is an enthusiastic, thriving, independent clinical research facility with active adult and pediatric databases. We specialize in patient studies involving allergic rhinitis and conjunctivitis, asthma and COPD, food allergy and urticaria. Located in Mid-Missouri, our CRO site investigates various medications and devices under sponsorship of the pharmaceutical industry with supervision by the FDA. The research performed at CRO is conducted by a board-certified allergist and a professional research staff.
Facility Description
CRO has a dedicated site located in Columbia with easy access to major highways and within two hours of St. Louis or Kansas City. Our facility is capable of performing numerous technical procedures such as IV infusion, pharmacokinetic sampling, pulmonary function testing, remote EKG monitoring, allergy skin testing and phlebotomy. The site has access to a spirometry machine, stadiometer, -70 degree freezer, a refrigerated centrifuge, exam rooms, secure computers for electronic data transfer and private conference rooms for monitors.
Clinical Research Experience
Since 1987, CRO has successfully conducted a wide range of more than 600 phase I-IV adult and pediatric clinical trials. We are recognized as a leader in pediatric studies for asthma and have established a high success rate for meeting or exceeding enrollment in our clinical trials. We have also successfully conducted several outdoor challenge studies (day in the park) having the capability of enrolling over 200 subjects in one weekend.
Our clinical coordinators are trained to understand FDA regulations and ICH/Good Clinical Practice guidelines. We have a "Certified Clinical Research Coordinator" employed at our site; Hired coordinator's are encouraged to test for their ACRP certification as soon as they are eligible. Our physician and NP investigators participate in ongoing training and are nationally recognized researchers in asthma and allergic rhinitis.
